Ideas should be permanent, but we know that web services are shut down too often. We built Imprint so that our users can feel secure that their writing is in good hands. This is a place for ideas, and we wholeheartedly believe that ideas should persist forever, because there’s always someone who can learn from them.
Here are the promises we’re making (in non-legalese), to ensure that you own your content, and that your content is permanent.
- We promise to do everything in our power to ensure that any content you publish on the platform will continue to be available on the web forever, at the same permanent link, as long as you want it there.
- You own your content/data, not us. We’ll never sell your data nor claim your ideas as our own. You’ll always be able to export your content, since your content will be permanently on our platform (as long as it follows our ToS).
- In the case that Imprint is acquired or shut down, we will do everything we can to keep your content online. That may take the form of us publishing an open, searchable database of your content, or at the very least sending you copies of all your content to keep.
These promises make up the essence of Imprint. They’re the foundational principles upon which we built this company, and this platform. So basically, they mean a lot to us, and hopefully they mean a lot to you too. You’re in good hands.
